6000-series alloys such as 6063 and 6061

Aluminium extrusion billets

Discuss aluminium extrusion billet requirements for extruders and fabricators. Define the alloy, billet diameter, cut length, homogenisation and inspection requirements, so that the specification matches your press and finished product.

  • 6063 reference composition shown.
  • 6061 and other alloys confirmed per enquiry.
  • Diameter, length and homogenisation specified per order.
Alloys

Choose the alloy

Billets are specified by alloy designation and the standard it must meet.

6063

Architectural and general extrusion alloy. Its reference composition is shown in the table below.

6061

Structural alloy with higher strength. Its composition limits are confirmed against the requested standard for each enquiry.

Other alloys

Specify the alloy designation and the standard it must meet.

Preparing your enquiry

What to include in a billet enquiry

Include the following:

  • Alloy and standard, for example 6063 to EN 573-3.
  • Billet diameter and cut length, or log length.
  • Homogenisation requirement.
  • Inspection and testing requirements, such as ultrasonic testing.
  • Quantity in metric tonnes, destination and delivery schedule.

Specifications shown are selected reference parameters for initial enquiries. Product availability, the complete agreed specification, origin, quantity, delivery terms, and applicable quality documentation are confirmed for each transaction. This information is not a Certificate of Analysis or confirmation of available stock.
